History A Golden Retriever named "Timber" entered in 1980, and that was a pleasure and fun from the first time we saw eachother. I started to train him and later also huntingtests and even this white/pale Golden of a Dual Purpose line got his diplomes on hunting. BUT he als got a big disadvantage namely a more than perfect Hyp-Dyspl. We hunted together for several years and he did great,but I didn't want a Golden anymore also because of the genetic problems and the area I hunted was more Wetlands than Uplands. 1982 Cartouche entered the home as a puppy and the story started with this browndog of wich everybody was saying to rase him with a stick.(foolish after all!!) One example about me being so inexperienced as can be,it took me 8 years to let him cross a canal,he usually did take a great leap into the water and started to play and just swimming around in circles,leaving me behind as a fool for more than 2 hours!!!When he did get out,he took his punishment as a real guy,but not too much. Nowadays we know better!!(let's hope!!!) PLSE NOTE; |
